Updates

Alright, its now March. Evidently I turn in 5 month cycles. Anyway, what is there to say? I have been gigging nonstop all year. I have been the house bassist down at Charlie Mopp's for a bunch of weeks now, and the talent that walks through that door is humbling to say the least. I have been blessed to meet and jam with many of Atlanta's finest rockers. Last week we played a great show at a killer new venue in Winder called Doc McGees. That place is incredible! HUUUUGE! We played a set with the Mike Delaney Project, those guys were ON IT. What a pleasure. Going to Florida next week, bow chicka bow bow.....looking forward to that. Also, festival season is around the corner, I will do my best to keep everyone informed of the awesome war stories, (names and faces withheld from the best ones, heh heh) and how the band is going.

WOW

Ok, so it's November. My last post was in July. That should just about sum up how my life works.
Funny. Well, the last few months have been quite rewarding. Lefty and I have been gigging like maniacs. There have been so many good shows, Hemlockfest, Magfest, Nickfest, The Grateful Dead Tribute show at Charlie Mopp's, the list goes on. How do you summarize something like that? Awesome. I am really thankful that I have been given this opportunity to chase my dreams. Thank you to everybody who has helped me (and all musicians) in any way, from letting us crash on the couch, to promoting shows, buying CD's or even just showing up to the gigs. The ways you help are countless. You guys are the reason we can do this. So, thank you. I'll try to keep doing my absolute best at all times so that you are proud. Maybe I'll start by actually making entries, and then getting someone to actually read this blog....

Mo' Daddy's

Well, this was an incredible show. The band sounded great for the first set everyone was really pleased with us, and then the second set happened. I dunno what it was, but we went from feelin' great, to being on FIRE! Man, we were killin' it! I had such a good time, it felt good to really let go and just play. The sound system was awesome. John, the soundman, nailed it. The owner, also John, was such a nice guy too, he freakin' helped us mic the stage up, and let us have some of the most delicious food, too! Asheville has some beautiful souls, and a lot of them came out to see us. I love this job.

The Boogie

How do you sum up three days of constant awesome? The Boogie. This was gthe coolest festival I have ever played, hands down. The people were incredible, the vibe was great, and the jamming was non-stop. I got to hang out with some of the baddest cats around. Ralph Roddenberry destroyed the stage. He is an atomic bomb of funk. Deep Blue Sun took it up a notch and blew minds. Everywhere you went there were drums and hippies and love. It was awesome! I can't even describe how righteous this gig was, it was that righteous. Lefty, Steve and I showed some love up on the second stage. Man, we had some killer jams. People really seemed to dig us, they just kept appearing from the woods. Dan came and played keys with us, he really adds a lot to the mix. Man, it was just too cool. So I guess I'd summarize this weekend with one word....
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOGIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bigg Daddy's

I've never been to Helen before...when did Georgia get a bavarian mountain town? Who knew? Anyway, saw a bunch of nasty bikes, that was rad. Bigg Daddy's was cool, the food was amazing. They have a Peach Barbecue sauce that will blow your mind.

Budweiser Hidden Lakes Concert

Whew, this weekend was great! I played with Lefty up in Tellico Plains, TN at the Hidden Lakes Concert Series. The band was really cooking, Dan Barker was sitting in with us on keys and he was smokin'. As always Lefty and Steve were killing it, and the whole experience was really fun. I met some great new folks! Later there was an acoustic Jam with Doug Warren on guitar, man is that guy awesome. The fellas broke out into a Pink Floyd jam and ended up playing half an album. People were jumping up and singing background, banging on the congas, etc. Everybody had so much fun, it was great! I can't wait for next week at Bigg Daddy's in Helen GA, it should be incredible.
